Cast of Private High Musical

Thanks to Tubefilter, Tilzy.tv, and NewTeeVee, the creators of this year’s most acclaimed web series had their first ever awards ceremony.  Not only did they do a fabulous job of putting on the show, but it was so much fun seeing all my web pals glammed up for the first time (web and glam don’t usually go hand in hand.)

The auditorium was packed full of people who had all learned to circumvent the Hollywood system by CREATING their own work, taking chances, and doing it all on a budget.  And 90% of the time, getting the job done because of the help of friends.

The FIRST annual Streamy Awards, dedicated to honoring achievement in the world of web television, is being held March 28, 2009 at 7:30 PM.  You can catch a live broadcast at the www.streamys.org!

I was shocked to receive a nomination for Best Female Actor in a Comedy Web Series, alongside these much more funny women: Felicia Day, Lisa Kudrow, Megan Mullally, and Kirsten Schaal.  Sorority Forever also received a nod for Best Dramatic Series and Best Direction (go Big Fantastic!!) and the lovely Jessica Rose for Best Female Actor in a Dramatic Web Series (Sorority Forever.)

I’m so excited to announce that MTV is officially ordering up a TV pilot based on Private High Musical!

MTV Orders Up ‘Private High Musical’

Thank you SO incredibly much to all the people involved – the cast and crew, you all are such wonderful friends and made this project so much fun. Also, HUGE thanks to 60Frames for making this all possible and the development team at MTV for taking a chance on this project.

I’ll try to keep everyone as updated as possible as we move forward!

Just thought I should finally introduce all of you to my one and only. He’s cute, cuddly, and LOVES cereal. What more could a girl want?

Monday night I had the pleasure of attending Cosmopolitan Magazine’s annual Fun, Fearless Male Awards, which honored the likes of Chace Crawford, Timbaland, Rainn Wilson (The Office), Aaron Eckhart, Adam Levine, Ben Silverman, Blair Underwood, Mario Lopez, and (my personal star crush – shhh!) Bradley Cooper.

Ali Larter (Heroes), Cosmo’s Fun, Fearless Female for 2009, also received her award. Maria Menounos did the honors.

It was a chic little event, held at my new favorite Los Angeles hotel, the SLS. Some of the highlights - 

- Levine revealed that his guitarist has a “man crush” on Eckhart, who promptly tried to hide beneath the table.

- After a series of jokes, Eckhart gave a humbled shout out to the troops in the Middle East, with whom he visited with fellow actor Bradley Cooper this past year. 

- Funnyman Rainn Wilson did his best impression of what it’s like for males to have sex with a female (i.e. Meg Ryan’s performance in “When Harry Met Sally,” except…it’s Rainn Wilson.) The glasses had great effect. 

Every year, the first of March creeps up on me like a slice of moldy bread in an otherwise perfect loaf. Always. For three reasons:

A) It’s already March, and yet, I’m still wishing people a Happy New Year. Two months have passed!?! How is this possible?? My last vivid memory before what I ate for breakfast this morning was downing my last shot of tequila post-midnight on January 1st.  This is depressing.

B) The pile of tax season letters on my desk is now six inches tall. (Which means I finally have to acknowledge them.) Oh yes! And that whole LA business tax exemption process that has to be completed by March 2nd? Ay, yay, yay. Don’t even get me started.

C) The flowers come out, the temperature rises, the sky is clear, and I have the sniffles. Sick misery. :*(

These three things happen every year on March 1st. Every year.   

Ok. Enough complaints. Back to work :)
