Thanks to Tubefilter, Tilzy.tv, and NewTeeVee, the creators of this year’s most acclaimed web series had their first ever awards ceremony.  Not only did they do a fabulous job of putting on the show, but it was so much fun seeing all my web pals glammed up for the first time (web and glam don’t usually go hand in hand.) 

The auditorium was packed full of people who had all learned to circumvent the Hollywood system by CREATING their own work, taking chances, and doing it all on a budget.  And 90% of the time, getting the job done because of the help of friends.

THE STREAMY AWARDS

The FIRST annual Streamy Awards, dedicated to honoring achievement in the world of web television, is being held March 28, 2009 at 7:30 PM.  You can catch a live broadcast at the www.streamys.org!

I was shocked to receive a nomination for Best Female Actor in a Comedy Web Series, alongside these much more funny women: Felicia Day, Lisa Kudrow, Megan Mullally, and Kirsten Schaal.  Sorority Forever also received a nod for Best Dramatic Series and Best Direction (go Big Fantastic!!) and the lovely Jessica Rose for Best Female Actor in a Dramatic Web Series (Sorority Forever.)

Hey guys! It feels like it’s been forever since I blogged up here (I guess it has been almost a week! yikes!)  I’ve been sick and a little under the weather, so it took a little motivation to get to work today.

I wanted to let you know that although Hott 4 Hill 2 hasn’t seen that many hits on YouTube, on MySpace we have 150,000 hits! I also got some really awesome comments in my inbox (and 1,000 friend requests….OMG!) so I just wanted to share a few of them with you:

You didn’t say much about John….. It seems no one does. That’s ok, but why not? We should focus on the issues and not how cool Obama is. So vote Mcain!!! Love Mike…P.S Your Video was good! I’m glad there are young people who care. Even if we don’t agree!

I waited a bit before posting about this episode, mostly just so I could sit back and see fan reactions. I knew it would be one of the more shocking webisodes, and it looks like I was right – the episode has surpassed 200,000 hits on MySpace alone in just 2 days.

Some fans wanted to know if my character was a lesbian, but I think most were pretty on the nose – no, Taryn Monaghan isn’t a lesbian, she’s just willing to do ANYTHING to get into Phi Kappa – no matter what it takes. All in all, it was written to further my character’s development, not as just gratuitous “girl on girl”…but quite frankly, I want to know what you all think, because it’s very tough in micro-series to allow back story.

As far as behind-the-scenes juice goes, at first I was really nervous about the scene (I even asked the directors if I could have a shot to loosen me up but unfortunately it was only 10am and that would have been a little ridiculous).
