Thanks to Tubefilter, Tilzy.tv, and NewTeeVee, the creators of this year’s most acclaimed web series had their first ever awards ceremony.  Not only did they do a fabulous job of putting on the show, but it was so much fun seeing all my web pals glammed up for the first time (web and glam don’t usually go hand in hand.)

The auditorium was packed full of people who had all learned to circumvent the Hollywood system by CREATING their own work, taking chances, and doing it all on a budget.  And 90% of the time, getting the job done because of the help of friends.

I’m so excited to announce that MTV is officially ordering up a TV pilot based on Private High Musical!

Here’s an excerpt from the Hollywood Reporter:  MTV’s next target: scripted comedy.The cable network is developing an unprecedented number of scripted half-hour projects, including a parody of Disney’s “High School Musical.” For the rest of the article, please see below.

EXCERPT: Let’s get the big news out first. Two of the hottest stars on the web are teaming up: Jessica Rose and Taryn Southern have formed a web production company,Webutantes, and are developing a number of original web series slated to come out in the next year. We had a chance to catch up with the young web stars to talk about their new venture, their ever-evolving careers and their plans to shake up Hollywood’s outdated perceptions of women.

Wednesday, November 5th. I woke up feeling so excited, if not absolutely inspired, by the turn of events last night. What an amazing election! As many of you probably know, I was a proud Obama supporter, but beyond that, I am proud to be living at a time when we have the first African-American President!!!
